Reason for the Blog

This blog was created as a safe place for everyone to come and voice their opinions, concerns, and ideas about what is going on at the campgrounds. I will post questions and ideas and let the comments flow. People can post anonymously if they choose, or they can use their name. I really want to know what you think. I do not want this to become a forum for any agenda or a soapbox about which option is better than the rest. This is an open blog and is created for you as a shareholder of the campgrounds.

God has been good to us and has given us these campgrounds to use and enjoy, let's see what all God has put in your heart to share.

For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them. Matt 18:20 NRSV

Blessings~

  1. I just think that the youth should also have a say in it. Being part of the youth myself, I would have to say that keeping the campgrounds should be our number one objective and I think that the majority of our youth would agree that we have shared too many memories there to let go go of the campgrounds unless we can't help it. The only people I have heard say that they want the campgrounds to go so far is a few middle-aged people. But let's say that we do end up selling the campgrounds, I think it would be rediculous to split up the the mission centers to have two seperate campgrounds. I mean for one, the kids in each mission center have and always will develope strong relationships with each other and camp is there only time they get to see each other; why would we wanna just take that away from them? You also have to think, why in the world would anybody wanna make our camps smaller? It bothers me that people would wanna take away from our youth's fun at camp because all they wanna do is think about themselves and vote to do what they want instead of do what's right for the well-being of our church. It would already be taking away from the spirituality and fun of camp by moving campgrounds, but to split the camps up would just be unheard of. And whatever happens, I just hope that if we have a vote on the whole selling of the campgrounds and the other ideas, we keep in mind what is going to benefit the church and youth as a whole and not what we think is gonna be most beneficial to ourselves. By the time all this happens my youth days will be through, but the reason that I am writing this comment is because I fear that the future youth is not going to get as much out of camp as I did when I went. This means a lot to me as you can tell, so hopefully it all turns out for the best for us all in the end.
